About Manheim Township

Manheim Township, the only First Class Township in Lancaster County, occupies 23.4 square miles and is located in the center of Lancaster County, bordering the City of Lancaster to the north.  The developed areas of the Township are predominantly residential, with industrial and commercial activity prevalent near the City of Lancaster, and agriculture dominating the northern section of the Township.  We are one of the fastest growing suburban townships in Lancaster County.  According to 2000 census data, our estimated population was 33,697.

So what's in Manheim Township for you?  A variety of entertainment and recreation opportunities are available in Manheim Township.  Our 14 parks offer recreation opportunities including picnic facilities, playground areas, walking, biking and hiking trails, and landscaped areas to take in and enjoy.  Facilities within the Township include: the Boettcher House Museum, Skyline Pool, Overlook Pool, Stauffer Mansion, three all-volunteer fire departments, skating rink (OAC), dog park, skate park, Destination Playground, the Overlook Golf Course, Overlook Falls Mini-Golf, The Barn at Overlook (Barny's Grill and banquet facility), public library, double-ended golf practice range, indoor golf facility, numerous pavilions, and more.  We also host many great community events throughout the year, so check out our events calendar!
