The Mayor's Office of Special Events
Special events bring fun to city life! From block parties to street festivals there is something happening almost every weekend in the City of Lancaster. The Mayor's Office of Special Events creates events that bring people together not just to enjoy the event but to enjoy one another, to meet new people and to have a great experience in the City.
About MOOSE
In 2006, Mayor J. Richard Gray formed the Mayor's Office of Special Events as a non-profit organization. MOOSE's mission is about producing special events and serving as a resource for others planning events. At the center of all it, discussions, partnerships, decisions and actions are its core purposes - creating excitement and enthusiasm for the City of Lancaster.
One of the most expedient ways to accomplish this is to think "gathering" - social gatherings. Gatherings to bring people together not just to enjoy "the event" but to enjoy one another, to participate in the sense of camaraderie, to meet new people, and to get to know their neighbors.
In short, MOOSE is looking for that next best party where people can work collectively to create a gathering of neighbors, visitors, acquaintances and guests to enjoy the event and also one another.
